I’m out for a walk this evening. It’s beautiful. Temperatures are not too high. It’s not too cold. It’s just about how Goldilocks would like it.
I’m doing my best to stay active. Not just because of Quarantine, but because it’s a good way to be. It has a lot of benefits, a few of which I’d like to share here:
1. I like that I can go out every day for half an hour and my performance depends completely on me. I’m not competing with anyone else. I get done what I set out to get done. I choose to do this for the betterment of my own health. This, for me, is one of the best things I can do.
2. No where else do I get the opportunity to think as clearly and breathe as deeply as I do on a walk. I love getting a chance to get my body moving and let my brain explore new thoughts and ideas. Sometimes new ideas refuse to show up, but I am giving them the opportunity to do just that. More often than not they appear.
3. I like the fact that I’m out where very few people are. I don’t often see people out in my neighborhood taking advantage of the beautiful weather. It’s nice to be out here where it is calm and beautiful and peaceful all at the same time.
4. I do it because it’s awesome.
How long has it been since you’ve been on a walk yourself? It’s great exercise, it’s great time to think, and it’s great time just to be out in the world God has made. I challenge you to get out and do the same. What’s stopping you?
