One image per chapter read. Every Day. Reading Through the Bible in 2026.

On January 1, 2026, I started a project that has quietly become one of my favorite things I’ve ever created.

The idea is simple: every day, I read chapters of the Bible. I find the verse from each chapter that strikes me most — the one with the most vivid image, the deepest truth, or the moment that stops me in my tracks — and I create an AI-generated illustration inspired by that verse.

I’m reading through the Bible Recap on the Bible App. One image per chapter. Posted every day on TikTok and Instagram.

Why I Started This

I’ve been reading my Bible consistently for several years. It’s the first thing I do every morning and the foundation everything else in my life is built on.

But I wanted to do something more with it. Not just read — but see. I wanted to take the words I was reading and bring them to life visually, in a way that might help other people experience Scripture the way I was experiencing it.

AI image generation gave me the tool. The daily discipline of the 7-40 Challenge gave me the consistency. And God gave me the reason.

What I didn’t expect was what it would do for me. Creating these images has deepened my reading in ways I never anticipated. When you have to choose one verse per chapter — the one that becomes the image — you read differently. You slow down. You look for the visual. You sit with the text longer. And in that sitting, things reveal themselves that I would have missed at reading speed.

It has brought me closer to God. And that alone makes the whole project worth it.

Where I Am Now

I’m reading through the Bible from the beginning. Here’s what I’ve covered so far:

  • Job (Chapters 1–42)
  • Genesis (Chapters 11–50)
  • Exodus (Chapters 1–40)
  • Leviticus (Chapters 1–27)
  • Numbers (Chapters 1–36)
  • Deuteronomy (In progress)

Every image is paired with the verse that inspired it, the chapter reference, and the translation I’m reading from (primarily NIV).

What People Are Saying

As of Day 65 of this project, BiblePictures365 has reached:

  • 970+ followers across TikTok and Instagram
  • 130,000+ views
  • Less than $70 spent on advertising

Nearly every follower found the project organically. The growth has been almost entirely driven by people seeing an image and wanting to see more. I don’t say that to brag — I say it because it tells me something important: people are hungry for Scripture presented in a way that meets them where they are.

How It Works

Each image is generated using an AI image creation tool. I write a detailed prompt based on the verse I’ve selected, specifying the scene, the mood, the lighting, the composition, and the emotional tone I want to capture. The AI generates the image, and I select the one that best represents what I saw in the text.

It’s not a replacement for reading the Bible. It’s a companion to it. A visual invitation to open the Book and see what God has to say.

And He’s still creating. Every day. In ways we can see if we’re willing to look.
