Gratitude Sunday: My Best Friend

Day 62 of 280 | The 7-40 Challenge | Thank You Campaign

It is Sunday, March 8th, 2026, and it’s time for my Gratitude Sunday post.

As part of the 7-40 Challenge this year, I’ve had the daily habit of being grateful for something — expressing gratitude, saying thanks, letting somebody know how I feel about them. But on Sundays, I pick a topic and expound on it even more, to show how grateful I am for the life I’ve been given, for the way God has blessed me, and for the amazing people — friends, family, everyone — who are part of my life.

Tonight is another post about my wife.

My wife is my best friend. We have been married for over 27 years now. And it seems like time keeps picking up speed, going faster and faster. We find ourselves looking and feeling older than we used to.

But that’s not how I see her.

I still look at this beautiful, amazing woman. I listen to her laugh. I watch her do the things she enjoys. And my heart is full of so much gratitude and so much thankfulness for this friend I found so many years ago — the one who has walked with me through all of life’s ups and downs, who has loved me and taken care of me and forgiven me, and who has been the best friend, aside from Jesus, that I’ve ever had.

Sweetheart, I am so in love with you. I am so thankful for you.

You continue to amaze me — year after year, month after month, week after week, day after day — with how brilliant and creative and smart and funny and driven and determined you are. And so many other things that I could never list them all.

Everything you touch, you make beautiful.

And I am so thankful for you.
